1Which problem is mine?
Which SQL Server Problems Does Recovery Manager Solve?
Match your problem to a module. Every module opens from the home screen and works on its own.
- Corrupt MDF or NDF FileThe Recover module opens the file and brings back your database objects with a full preview.
- Damaged BAK FileThe backup module repairs corrupt, compressed and differential BAK files.
- Lost SA PasswordThe password module resets Unknown and Empty passwords from the master.mdf file.
- Unreadable Encrypted ScriptsThe decrypt module opens encrypted SQL Server scripts and previews them.
- Unknown Changes in DataThe log module lists INSERT, DELETE and UPDATE transactions from an LDF file.
- No SQL Server on HandThe viewer module opens corrupt, healthy and deleted MDF data without a SQL Server environment.
Database Administrators
Repair a damaged database or backup and export healthy objects to a live server.
Forensic Investigators
Review the change history of a database from its LDF file.
IT Teams Locked Out
Reset a lost SA or SQL user password from the master.mdf file.
Local Windows administrators can regain sysadmin access without extra software. Microsoft describes how to start SQL Server in single user mode and connect as a sysadmin in its guide on connecting when system administrators are locked out.
That route allows one connection and needs a restart afterward. SQL Server Recovery Manager works from the master.mdf file when that route is closed to you.
2What changes?
What Does One Recovery Toolkit Give You?
Before
- Corrupt MDF and BAK files stay closed
- Nobody remembers the SA password
- Encrypted scripts stay unreadable
After
- One home screen opens six recovery modules
- Deleted items show in red before you export
- Healthy data goes to a live server, scripts or CSV

Recovery Manager Questions and Answers
What does SQL Server Recovery Manager include?
SQL Server Recovery Manager includes six modules. They recover MDF and NDF files, analyze LDF logs, restore BAK backups, reset SA passwords, decrypt SQL scripts and view database files. Every module works on its own.
How do I recover a corrupt MDF file with Recovery Manager?
Open the Recover module, add the corrupt MDF or NDF file and start the scan. Database objects come back in a tree view. Deleted items show in red before you export.
Which BAK files can Recovery Manager repair?
Corrupt, compressed and differential BAK files all work. Compressed backups need a SQL Server setup and SQL Server Authentication on the computer.
How do I reset a lost SA password with Recovery Manager?
Add the master.mdf file in the password module. Recovery Manager lists the SA and SQL user logins and resets Unknown and Empty passwords. Unknown means a password protects the login and Empty means the login needs none.
How does Recovery Manager analyze an LDF log file?
Recovery Manager lists INSERT, DELETE and UPDATE transactions from the LDF file. Investigators use that history to see which queries changed the database.
Can Recovery Manager decrypt encrypted SQL scripts?
Yes. Recovery Manager opens encrypted SQL Server scripts from a live SQL environment and previews them before export. Exporting decrypted data to a SQL Server on the same network needs a license.
What does the free demo include?
Demo mode previews recovered objects from MDF, NDF and BAK files, log transactions, login status and decrypted scripts. Export 25 records per table and 5 other categories before you pay. Corrupt BAK and LDF export plus password recovery need a license.
How much does SQL Server Recovery Manager cost?
Pricing starts at $299 per machine for 1 month. Select 1 to 11 months or 1 year at $3,588 per machine. One order covers 1 to 500 machines.
Should I choose SQL Server Recovery Manager or SQL Recovery?
Choose SQL Recovery when MDF and NDF repair is the only task. Choose Recovery Manager when you also need backups, logs, passwords or decrypted scripts. SQL Backup Recovery covers BAK files alone.
Which SQL Server versions work with Recovery Manager?
Files from SQL Server 2025, 2022, 2019, 2017, 2016, 2014, 2012, 2008 R2, 2008, 2005 and 2000 work. Windows 11, 10, 8 and 7 plus Windows Server 2025 to 2008 host the software.
How fast do I receive the license key?
Your license key reaches your inbox within 15 minutes after the card or PayPal payment clears at the hosted checkout.
Can I get a refund on SQL Server Recovery Manager?
Yes. Refunds are open to requests for 30 days under the RecoveryTools refund policy. Orders placed without a demo evaluation do not qualify. Send a signed Letter of Destruction to sales@recovery-tools.org with your request.
